Use the electronic service to submit a notification
- on placing a food supplement, a fortified food, an infant formula, a food for special medical purposes, a total diet replacement for weight control or a certain follow-on formula on the market,
- on changed composition of a food supplement or a fortified food, or
- on the removal of a fortified food from the market.
Logging into the electronic service is done with Suomi.fi e-identification and Suomi.fi e-authorizations.
Please note that the electronic service is currently only available for companies with a Finnish business ID and private persons with a Finnish social security number.
You can log in to the electronic service using Suomi.fi authentication. The web address of the online service is https://elva.ruokavirasto.fi.
Electronic service for food notification uses Suomi.fi e-identification and Suomi.fi e-authorization
Suomi.fi e-identification and Suomi.fi e-authorizations are used when logging in the electronic service for food notifications.
The users of the electronic service for food notifications can request and grant the e-Authorizations in Suomi.fi. Instructions on how to grant or request e-authorizations can be found in Suomi.fi.
There are following authorizations available in Suomi.fi:
- Submitting food product notifications
- This mandate allows the assignee to browse and submit notifications related to food products and modify their details on behalf of the assignor.
- Browsing food products notifications
- This mandate allows the assignee to submit notifications related to food products on behalf of the assignor and browse details in notifications submitted by the assignee himself/herself.
Notification fees
A fee is charged for the processing of food notifications in accordance with price list of the Finnish Food Authority (in Finnish). The processing fees for notifications differ depending on the way of the submission:
- The fee for each notification submitted via the electronic service is 44 euros.
- The fee for each notification submitted by post (incl. email) is 101 euros.
If the processing of the notification is suspended due to missing information or the submitted notification is cancelled, half of the processing fee will be charged.
