Animal welfare control

The task of the local animal welfare authorities is to supervise that animals are cared for, treated or used in accordance with the animal welfare regulations. Compliance with the animal welfare act, or provisions or regulations issued under it, is controlled by means of animal welfare inspections. The inspection may concern an animal, the premises or transport equipment as well as feed, drink, equipment and implements intended for the animal.
