- The trade name, name or identifying piece of information of the contact material
- The composition and/or texture of the contact material (e.g. PP, virgin paperboard, printing inks)
- Raw materials that have restricted approval (according to safety references)
- Information about whether dual-use additives have been used, and if they have, their name and E-number
- References to legislation that the regulatory compliance of the material or article is based on. Minimum requirements in all cases are the fulfilment of requirements in regulation 1935/2004 and the material-specific legislation or other safety references.
- Indication that the manufacturing of the contact material has been performed under a quality management system that is in compliance with regulation 2023/2006
- results from tests or model calculations
- Types of foods for which the material is suitable
- Restrictions on operating temperature
- Restrictions on contact time.
Furthermore, the following information must be declared if necessary, depending on the material:
- The potential activity and intelligence of the material
- Whether surface biocides were used in the manufacture of the material
- With fibre materials, whether the fibre used was recycled fibre or virgin fibre, and whether the material was bleached
- With recycled plastic, required additional information according to the recycled plastics regulation (EU) 1616/2022
