Feed examinations

The safety and composition of animal feed is examined using microbiological and microscopic methods. Official samples are collected comprehensively from the entire animal feed chain. Samples are collected from raw feed materials, manufacturing processes of animal feed manufactured in Finland and feed that is already on the market.

Inspectors authorised by the Finnish Food Authority are responsible for collecting the samples. Standards approved by international bodies, methods from a collection of methods or other methods validated according to the standard ISO 16140 against reference method used for the analysis of the sample.
